If you are exclusively dating one person and committed to that person, there should be no question to update your status to "In A Relationship".
If a man doesn't happily acknowledge your existence on his social media profile, that's a red flag. If a man marries you but does not change his status to married on Facebook, that's also a problem. Any man who loves you will proudly say he is in a relationship with you. No questions asked and without resistance.
If he claims he can't change his status because he uses Facebook for professional contacts, that's an excuse. And, that's what LinkedIn is for. ;)
